Best Plants That Love Lots Of Sunlight For Your Yard!

sun loving plantsLook On The Sunny Side of Life: There is some cool stuff over there

If you have a house gets a lot of sunlight (or faces north) you have a great advantage of buying bright, beautiful plants that will make your home more inviting and your garden more colorful. While you can still enjoy creeping time or evergreens, there are plenty of options to update your yard. Here are a few ideas that may spark your inspiration.

Calendula

This beautiful flower smells wonderful and can be a bright burst of orange. They grow well in full or partial sun with plenty of water. These flowers can grow a little under a foot, which can add height and levels to your garden. They last all through summer but you do need to snip dying flower heads throughout the season to keep the plant looking vibrant and beautiful.

If you want to bring them inside they do well in a bouquet or as part of a potpourri.

Fruit Trees

Fruit trees are a great way of bringing some color to your yard that you can enjoy. Most fruit trees enjoy full or partial sun. Blueberry plants, fig trees, and apple trees can bring plenty of fresh food into your home and will look beautiful in your yard.

If you would like you can even use native fruit trees like mulberry and persimmon trees. Persimmon trees are native to China but there is a smaller (in my opinion) tastier tree native to Pennsylvania that is delicious and packed with goodness.
Depending on what you choose you can then harvest the fruit to create jelly, jams, preserves, and plenty of other recipes that you can enjoy through the winter.

Yum!

Echinnacea

This plant is another that is about a foot tall that brings brilliant color to your home. Depending on your location within the country these bright flowers can have long, full petals that will make any home look more inviting. These flowers can live in full or partial sun with plenty of water. They do well with other flowers but can take over a garden if not taken care of. These flowers will also bring bees to your garden, which will help your garden look more vibrant and help the environment!

So check out your local garden store or farmer’s market for a few plants. These hearty trees and flowers will last throughout the years and could bring you and your family a lot of fun!
