5 step treatment process!
March 11, 2021Any landscaper will tell you that in order to have a beautiful, lush, green lawn you will want to make sure that you are feeding your lawn the nutrients that it needs to thrive. Not only will you notice the perks of fertilizing when you see your lawn, but you will be able to take comfort that your lawn has a stronger root system to withstand heat, cold, drought, and more. In this final blog of our series, we will discuss the 5-step approach that we take at Total Package Landscape to ensure a healthy lawn so that you can focus on the things that matter most!
Step 1: At the start of the spring season our specialist will arrive to your home and apply a granular quick-release fertilizer that is mixed with a pre-emergent weed control. This is a kickstart for growth in the spring season. In addition, it will prevent certain types of broadleaf weeds and crabgrass seeds from germination. When your lawn wakes up hungry in the spring – be sure to feed it the nutrients it needs to get it off to a good start!
Step 2: As spring comes to an end, our specialists will be about to apply a slow-release fertilizer that will continue to feed your lawn. At this time, your lawn is using up stored energy to grow & maintain, so you will want to make sure you keep your lawn fully fed!
Step 3: At the start of the summer, we will apply a granular lawn food that will slowly release essential nutrients to help the lawn grow deeper roots. This will help to protect your grass in the summer’s heat. Keep your lawn strong through the summer months; heat, drought, and foot traffic can cause damage to your lawn.
Step 4: At the end of the summer, our specialists will arrive and apply another pre-emergent and broadleaf weed control to deter winter weeds. This application will allow your lawn to recover from the summer damage.
Step 5: In late fall, we will apply another granular lawn food to assist with root development throughout the colder months. Your final application will ensure that your lawn’s roots are strengthened as well as an increase in nitrogen storage which will help out with next year’s lawn.
In order to get the best results, we encourage our customers to do a light watering after your treatment. This will allow the fertilizer to break down and go into the soil.
We always recommend keeping your children and pets off of the lawn for 24-48 hours.
